“We still have the Monopoly set my parents bought in 1987. The board is worn at the corners now, but every Thanksgiving, three generations crowd around it like clockwork.”

The Story Behind the Box
Parker Brothers started the exact way a lot of genuinely good things start: someone got completely bored and decided to actually do something about it. George Parker was just a sixteen-year-old kid back in 1883 when he created his very first card game over in Salem, Massachusetts. He was entirely convinced that games didn’t have to be these preachy, exhausting moral lessons dressed up as entertainment. They could just be fun. Plain old fun. His brothers Charles and Edward eventually joined up with him, and what basically began at a cluttered kitchen table turned into something that would end up inside millions of other people’s homes.
For well over a century, we’ve been the actual company behind the specific games that families fiercely argue over, friendships get tested by, and rainy Sunday afternoons just completely disappear into.
Monopoly. Clue. Risk. Sorry! These aren’t just plastic products we manufactured—they’re the precise reason someone’s sore loser uncle still won’t speak to their cousin after a heated Thanksgiving back in 2007. We’ve always fundamentally understood that the best games create real stories, and those chaotic stories heavily outlast the cardboard boxes they originally came in.
Honestly, we’re not trying to revolutionize your precious leisure time or disrupt the modern entertainment industry with tech gimmickry. We just make games.
We’ve been making them since way before your great-grandparents were even born, and we’ve gotten pretty damn good at knowing exactly what makes people actually want to sit down together, pick up some cards or roll some plastic dice, and forget about their real-world problems for a while. That’s been the entire point from day one, and maybe we’re old-fashioned, but we don’t see any good reason to complicate it.
